Cycling against diabetes

June 4, 2019 – We really admire people who try to move other people to bring our artificial pancreas to the next level. Fantastic! How they do that, we’d like to share with you.

Faith, hope and bike
The Engeltjes family, for instance, has initiated a cycling tour called “Fiets tegen Diabetes” (“Cycling against diabetes”).  After the son, Evert-Jan, heard that he would lose his sight due to diabetes, he watched Robin Koops on Dutch television. He regained hope. Together with his father, and at a later stage his sister, he set up a foundation in order to be able to support innovative developments in diabetes care. Based on their shared love for cycling, the family started a funding activity. All of the revenues will be donated to the artificial pancreas invented by Robin and Inreda. We do not only appreciate this initiative very much, we feel honoured!

Start and finish
“Fiets tegen diabetes” takes place on Saturday 29 June 2019. The good thing is that everyone can join. It is not a competition! The aim is to move people and to raise as much as possible money for the battle against diabetes. There are two tour options: a sporting tour (120 km / 75 mi)  or a recreational tour (50 km / 31 mi), and you can take the whole day if you like. Administration costs: €25, start and finish in Harderwijk, the Netherlands.

Not cycling but still want to contribute?
You are not able to cycle yourself? You can also contribute by donating or sponsoring one of the teams or individual bicyclers.  By doing so, you are also participating in the funding tour and raising the amount in order to bring the Inreda AP to the people. Thank you very much in advance on behalf of our team!
